Mrs. Margaret Anne Plaxton

Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Friday afternoon, January 27th, 2012. Margaret Anne Plaxton (nee Cumberland) of Owen Sound, at the age of 77 years. Dearly loved wife of John L. Plaxton. Loving mother of Wayne Plaxton and his wife, Heather, of Everett, Brenda Plaxton and her partner, Graham Eades, of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Greg Plaxton and his wife, Ruth-Ann, of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Michael (Amanda), Stephen (Heidi), Matthew (Andrea), Justin, Evan and great-grandmother of Enya and George. Dear sister of Bill Cumberland and his wife, Joan, of Alliston, Gail Cumberland, of Brampton and sister-in-law of Pauline Gill and her husband, Marvin, of Gravenhurst. Margaret Anne will be affectionately remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Beatrice Cumberland. Margaret Anne was a full time mother but made time to be involved in many volunteer organizations including the Diabetic Association, the Adult Rehabilitation Centre in Owen Sound and served on the Board of Directors for Vacation Village, in Florida. She also organized the craft and exercise classes at the recreation centre of Vacation Village.

WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario, N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Margaret Anne Plaxton will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Wilf Flavell officiating. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
