Suddenly at his home in Owen Sound on Sunday, February 14th, 2010. James Howard Murphy, of Owen Sound, in his 87th year. Dearly beloved husband of Kathleen Murphy (nee Brown), for 62 years. Loving father of Ric Murphy and his wife, Susan, of Parry Sound, Judy Noddle, of Keswick and Peter Murphy and his wife, Tanya, of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Lori, Ryan, Elise, Jillian, Nic, Deanna, Dylan and Wyatt. Jim will be missed by his sister-in-law, Edith Murphy, of Chesley and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Electa Murphy; his sisters, Alma Sloan and Kathleen Maltman; his brothers, Doug, Frank, Ewart, Ray and Harry Murphy. A Memorial Service for Jim Murphy will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ted Creen officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Chesley Cemetery.
