Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Thursday morning, March 11th, 2010. Lois Starr Alderton (nee Monk), of Owen Sound, at the age of 80 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Bruce Alderton. Loving mother of Terry Alderton and his friend, Edith Benedict, of Perkinsfield and mother-in-law of Janet Alderton, of Midland. Proud grandmother of Ted, Matthew and Krista Alderton and great-grandmother of Kieara Alderton. Dear sister of Ron Monk and his wife, Sylvia, of Owen Sound and sister-in-law of Eleanor Monk, of Owen Sound and Adele Alderton, of Midland. Lois will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Amelia Monk; her sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Miller, Jean (Art) Minard, Edith (Russell) Raney, Betty Fletcher and Gail (Cecil) Stanley; her brothers, Hilliard (Eleanor) Monk and Gerald Monk. A Funeral Service for Lois Alderton will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Sunday, March 14th at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Brad Clark officiating. Visitation two hours prior to service.
