Mrs. Freda Gillson

Aphrodite Catherine “Freda” Gillson (nee Georgas) passed away peacefully with dignity and grace surrounded by the love of her family and friends, at John Joseph Place in Owen Sound, on Tuesday, May 11th, 2010. Dearly beloved wife of Robert “Bobby” Gillson for 57 years. Loving mother of Elizabeth Graham and her husband, Richard L., of Owen Sound and Dr. George Gillson and his wife, Jeanette Queen, of Calgary. Proud grandmother of Andrew, Alexandra and Tyler Gillson, Teresa and Andrew Queen, all of Calgary and Danielle and Leanna Queen, of Atlanta, Georgia. Dear sister of Helen Webber, of Waterloo, Georgia (Tony) Ninos, of Cocoa, Florida, James (Barbara) Georgas, of Collingwood, Earl (Cora) Georgas, of Sauble Beach, Nicholas Georgas, of Southampton and dearest sister-in-law and friend of Helen Georgas, of Owen Sound. Freda will be sadly missed by her cherished nieces and nephews and her countless friends. Predeceased by her parents, Christos and Stavroula “Sadie” Georgas; her brothers, George, Louis and Bill Georgas; her sister, Constance (James) Robertson; her two grand-dogs, Jim and Kiefer (Liz and Rick’s pets), who loved her unconditionally. Freda’s zest for life will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Her smile, her laughter, her unending talents for entertaining and her commitment to her Church family will live on in all of us. Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life for Freda Gillson will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 1049 – 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound, on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jawn Kolohon officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to St. George’s Chancel Guild or St. George’s Church Tower Fund as your expression of sympathy.
