Mr. Edward "Ted" Telford

Monday, May 26, 1919 - Saturday, May 22, 2010

Peacefully at Summit Place in Owen Sound, on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010, four days before his 91st birthday.  Edward “Ted” Telford entered into the presence of the Lord, there to be welcomed home by his beloved wife, Margaret “Pearl” Telford (nee White), who went before him on February 1st, 2010. Loving father of Joyce Cowie and her husband, Alex, of Oshawa, Joan Telford, of Owen Sound and Dr. Edward Telford and his partner, Nancy Payne, of St. Thomas.  Proud grandfather of Kimberley (Brent), Mitzi (Phil), Michelle (Neil), Craig, Kirk and Claire and great-grandfather of Callum, Katlynn, Korey, Jason and Jake. Ted will be missed by his sister-in-law, Anita Telford, of England. Predeceased by his parents, Kirk and Hannah Telford; his brothers, James Telford and William Telford and his wife, Jean; his sister, Jessie McLeod and her husband, Andrew. As a young man in Scotland, Ted enlisted in the British Army and served six years, three of which he spent in the Middle East.  For fifty years, between Scotland and Owen Sound, he was a bandsman and Songster leader in the Salvation Army.  For approximately twenty years, he worked as a P.N.A. at the McKinnon Phillips Hospital.  A Funeral Service for Ted Telford will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church, 365 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound on Thursday, May 27th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Captain Colin Bain officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Salvation Army or the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation as your expression of sympathy and may be made through the BRIAN E.
