Mrs. Gladys "Pie" Atkinson

Sunday, September 15, 1935 - Monday, May 31, 2010

Peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday afternoon, May 31st, 2010.  Gladys Chesteret “Pie” Atkinson, of R. R. #1, Bognor, at the age of 74 years.  Dearly beloved wife of Douglas Atkinson.  Loving mother of Tracy Menger Evans, of Keswick, Dana Menger and his wife, Conny, of Orleans, Shelley Courneya and her husband, Al, of Aurora, Gary Menger and his wife, Judi, of California and step-mother of Trevor Atkinson and his wife, Liz, of Nepean and John Atkinson and his wife, Laurie, of Keswick.  Proud grandmother of Dan, Joel, Kyle, Michelle, Nigel, Scott, Elyse, Amy, Shelby and Evan.  Dear sister of James Keirstead and his wife, Robere, of Glenburnie, Anneka Daley and her husband, Ken, of Belleville, Robert Colebrook Keirstead and his wife, Mary Jane, of Marlbank, Toots Harvey and her husband,  Bob, of Sharbot Lake, Mitch Keirstead and his wife, Grace, of Waterloo and Madeline Montpool, of Newmarket.  Predeceased by her parents, Lorie and Greta Keirstead; her sister, Shon Duffy; her brother-in-law, Earl Duffy. Pie was the owner of the Windrush Art Studio in Bognor. A Celebration of Life for Pie Atkinson will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K – 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Kristal McGee officiating.  Pie has requested that everyone wear bright colours to her celebration and to gather in the reception room of the Funeral Home following her service to share memories. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation as your expression of sympathy.
